Can Windows 7 still be activated?
Windows 7 can still be installed and activated after end of support; however, it will be more vulnerable to security risks and viruses due to the lack of security updates. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft strongly recommends that you use Windows 10 instead of Windows 7.
Windows7 has been one of the most popular and popular operating systems of all time since it was released about ten years ago, but all things have to come to an end and Windows 7 extended support will even end on Jan 14, 2020, it will come much sooner than you think so that begs the question of whether it is safe to use still makes no sense to keep using it and I will probably tell you that the answer is obviously no in the short term before next January, but it becomes very risky for after that It's very dangerous to your computer, so at this point we're going to talk about why you should think about upgrading ASAP - like Windows 10 or something like that and also talk more about the life cycle of Windows in general, so basically each version of Windows usually receives around 10 years of support Receive 5 years of mainstream support that includes things like feature-up dates, design updates as well as bug fixes includes security updates and that kind of thing, so it's as far as icrosoft expands and improves the operating system really actively, not just to fix bugs, and then for the next five years there will be extended support, basically just going to be bug fixes and security updates, no new features or anything like that now, even though Windows 7 does it doesn't look like it's that old that a lot of people are still using mainstream support for it, and I think Microsoft actually expanded mainstream support for Windows 7 a bit in 2015 because it was so popular, but even now, expanded support is nearing its end and because it isn't? It is really important that you upgrade to a newer version of Windows beforehand. I mean, it is absolutely devastating and very, very bad to use a version of Windows that is not getting security updates, which is a hacker's dream that you are using an old version like that but wait a second because although official extended support for Windows 7 in year 202 actually ends end 0 at the beginningMicrosoft will allow people to pay extra three years of longer security data so they'll still be doing those security updates, but you'll only be able to access it when you pay for it, and there are a couple of reasons that we'll get to who exactly this is in a minute, but we're going to talk a little bit about this extension program, so this is simply called Windows 7 Extended Security Updates and as I said, this will last until 2023, so you essentially get three extra years, but this is not going to be cheap and the price will come from the addition of Windo depend ws you have. So if you have Windows 7 Pro it will cost $ 50 the first year, and then it will double every year through 2023, so it will be $ 50, then 100 the next year, and then $ 200 the next year, so if you want to extend it to 2023 it will be a total of $ 350, if you have Enterprise it is half the price so it will be $ 25 for the first year 50 for the second year and then $ 100 for the third year, that's a total of $ 175.
Now this advanced security update program is really not intended for regular home users and so you can't even get this option if you have a home version like pro and business only and it is mostly for business and that's because that really is business , especially large corporations, have a really hard time keeping their entire fleet of computers updated with a new version of Windows. People use these computers they know the downtime required for the upgrade is going to cost a lot of money, although you will have to train new users on the new UI, you know you and I might think it's still Windows, it's pretty easy to do too serve. There are a lot of tech-savvy people who are very used to this version of Windows and if you change a little thing it will mess them up so you may have to retrain it and they will have thousands of computers to update and that will just take time and there too could be compatibility issues, you may be using software that you have been using for the past decade and then if you upgrade to a new version of Windows it may break for some reason, maybe it was poorly designed software or it's just ancient and never released a new version or anything there is a lot of business software out there that is not as mature as you might think so giving businesses three extra years is very very beneficial and to say they give you a little more time to make the switch, but you have to pay for it and the there is Give them some incentive, it will probably be cheaper to upgrade than pay three hundred dollars per device because this is a per device upgrade system, but how many people actually still use Windows 7, it's as good as it gets it turns out that there are a lot of people out there, so a website StatCountercom is doing an analysis, they have essentially analyzed the information from web browsers and they could see which operating system? people use and they have seen that according to their stats, at least 35% of all internet users use Windows 7, and it's about 53 percent or something that use Windows 10, so over 1/3 of people use a Windows 10 computer and that is only about 10 percent year over year, so only 10 percent of people who use Windows 7 have upgraded to Windows 10.
Depending on how you look at it, I think it's good because to me Microsoft means that Microsoft has released a really good version of Windows, but at the same time it will stop supporting that is very, very bad that potentially a third of all People will be extremely vulnerable. I mean, hackers will be very excited to take advantage of this, once bugs are discovered for Windows 7 after this period is up, hackers will take this opportunity because there are so many computers that will not be protected from them and even if I check them out Google Analytics for people watching me watch y Channel Specifically, about 20% of people are still using Windows 7 so I know a good part of you are using Windows 7. I'm telling you you need to upgrade and another fun thing is when we look at how to use Windows 8 and 8.1, both of which taken together is only about 10 percent of the market share of people using Windows, it just shows how unpopular Windows is 8 was, I mean 30 percent or people are using a version five years older than this like no one is using 8, so it's worth paying for that extended security data, and I'd say it really comes down to it I won't say no, definitely an upgrade I mean if you are ready to pay for whatever the first thing to consider, keep in mind that you can only do this if you have a Pro or Enterprise version of Windows 7, and that's because you know they are y I'm really only going to offer this to people who use it for business, and there are more legitimate reasons to keep it if you just use it for use home use.
I mean, there's really no need to keep using Windows 7 if you're Pro and you're fine for $ 50 whatever it isn't that much money it might give you an extra year to see if this one Computer lasts or you think well I don't want to upgrade my computer and buy a new one for another year then it makes sense to simply pay 50 dollars and then when you get a brand new computer spend the money on it and then of course you don't need one old version of the operating system that might be worth it after that but unless you have a really real ️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ good reason to keep using Windows 7, it's getting more and more expensive and I mean paying two hundred dollars at the end of the life cycle just to get Windows 7 for one using extra year that's just plain stupid, now I know a lot of you are going to think fine, I don't want to have to pay to upgrade to windows 10 You know I missed the free upgrade period and now I'd have to pay well Here's the secret that isn't necessarily true You can apparently still get a free upgrade to Windows 10, but Microsoft really doesn't talk about it, technically it has Microsoft officially ended free upgrades to Windows 10 from previous versions in 2016, but if you download the Windows 10 installation media and run it on an older version and select Update this PC now and have an obviously real Windows version, apparently it will enabled Copy Windows 10 and don't get paid for it and this has at least recently been confirmed by many articles reporting users that this still works. I'm obviously not sure how long this will work so use it again as soon as you can, but when you do? I think you'd like to upgrade, at least give it a try and of course I'm adding the link to Microsoft's website which has these installation media so you can download it right there. That naturally begs the question, wait a minute, why would Microsoft offer this as a free upgrade, though? They say they aren't anymore and the reason is pretty much the same as the reason they offered it in t for free.
In the first place, they want as many people as possible to be using the latest version of Windows and Microsoft believes it at least that this actually makes them more money in the long run than selling the upgrades and the reason for this is that more people are using the latest version of Windows. There are more incentives for software developers to develop more software on Windows than on Mac or similar , and because these developers are making all this new great software that is best compatible with Windows 10 again, this gives users more incentive to choose to use a Windows computer than Mac, and Microsoft will get it too Get some extra cash from people who use services built into Windows, like OneDrive and MicrosoftOffice, to their subscription Service now so that more people using Windows 10 are generally easier to monetize why isn't Microsoft telling you that at least now you can still upgrade for free and why? is probably because they didn't want to o fooling computer manufacturers like OMS with original equipment manufacturers because this is how you think of it if you're like HP or Dell or something like that and make new computers for people to buy and all these customers telling why should I buy a new computer, can I get a free upgrade to Windows 10? then you'll be selling a lot less computers because people are just upgrading so it's kind of a balance Microsoft is like okay, we let people upgrade for free for a while and then hopefully they'll just start buying new computers from you and that also kind of explains why they might still allow you to upgrade to Windows 10 for free without telling you about it. It's like allowing people to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, but just because they aren't telling people about it, it means it won't hurt manufacturing sales, so I'll get you of course, strongly urge if at this point you are still using Windows 7 or even 8.1 you can a I mean it really is a great operating system, they upgrade it every six months, although I wouldn't recommend installing the features every six months as soon as they come out as this can sometimes cause problems but of course always install security updates right away that's another reason I would suggest if you can definitely afford to get Windows 10 Pro you will get a few extra features but the big one is that you can delay feature updates in Windows and potentially delay them for a long time, and the benefit of this is that Microsoft Windows is fun with Updated ctions updates has big updates every six months that they kind of release without much testing, which is really annoying.
There have been a lot of braking issues when people install new Windows 10 updates I mean we saw the issue where some people's files were deleted Settings have an option to delay them I got it this way for like 60 days at some point you still get the updates, but when all the kinks are worked out and of course you still get the security updates that you absolutely need to get right away, you get them right away, so there's not much more to say than simply answering the question about Windows 7 is still safe as I said, yes, but only for a short time and then it will be extremely unsafe to use, so it won't gradually become less safe, it will be like now, so definitely upgrade as soon as you get the chance, now so it's time thanks for watching guys, if you want you can check out some other articles that i have here, just click on that and i'll make a couple of new articles every week e, so it should be worth subscribing to

We'll start by going to the start menu and typing 'cmd' in the search box, which now means command. I'll show you how to do it. So I'll reset my pc and see you guys again.
Now after a quick reboot you may see that the text is gone and the screen is still black. This is because you have to manually change it to any image. For example, I go to a wallpaper and just apply it: set it as the desktop wallpaper and you may see that it works perfectly and the text is gone.
If this didn't work for you, people like you haven't seen any other message during the CMD code. All you have to do is go to the start menu and type inregedit in the search box and you will see a similar icon. Let's right click and click on 'Run as administrator'.

So over here we're going to change the value data from zero to one, if it's zero then we change it to one, it's going to be zero, I'm really sure of that. Now click OK and all you should do is restart your computer and then repeat the CMD encoding.
