Hello and welcome to Lenscraft today I'm looking at stitching panoramas with Affinity Photo I'll also be making a separate article showing the same images in Adobe Photoshop so you can compare the two approach I use to create panoramas , has three stages.

Stage 1 consists of recording the frames for the panorama, which in this case I have already done in stage 2. I process the raw files to prepare them for stitching and in stage 3 I actually stitch the frames together in this article we're going to look at stages 2 and 3. I already took the two pictures I want to join and imported them to take one.

I use Capture 1 because I took the pictures with my Fujixt3 and I find that Capture 1 gives the best results. I start editing one of the two images. First, I turn off the distortion correction because I don't want the image to be stretched.

I took this with my Fuji 16-80 lens which has quite a bit of distortion at the wide angle, a review on my website and I'll include the link in the article description below I'll also be using the diffraction correction option for reasons I'm into the lens overview explained. Next, I find the image colors just starting with choosing a new color profile curve for this image I want to use the high contrast curve of the film because I like the effect on the shadows when I open them up. I'll also increase the color temperature to around 5,500 by going over the image tones now.

I'll be using the high dynamic range sliders to restore the highlights and shadows, I've also tweaked some of the other adjustments to make the image look the way I want it. Finally I'm going to adjust the sharpening and noise reduction I can now copy my adjustments to the adjustment clipboard I select the second image and apply the adjustments to that image I know you will select both images to see them side by side if there is one If there is a significant difference in color or brightness, I'll make further corrections to match the two images then I can Export the two images that are ready to be joined in this example I export the images as 16-bit TIFF files to my desktop using the Adobe RGB color space Now for the third phase of the process where we stitch the images together, Inaffinity photo I start by creating a New Panorama from the file menu I can then add the two images that I have from my desktop I then click the Merge Panorama button. An affinity photo takes you first en thumbnail stitch out when i'm happy i have all the files for my panorama i can click the ok button affinity then renders the panorama and opens the result in panorama editor you can see the curve distortion that is on the images applied to correct a good overlap and make a good overlap 24mm full frame when taking a panorama with such a wide angle lens it is best to use a panorama head which I did not make r this note is output as white space, but if I select the option while painting, the affinity photo fills the gaps in the only areas I've found this doesn't work that well are the long thin edges that we have at the end of the picture so I'm going to be the edges of the Trim the frame to remove it with the cropping tool.

From these I can then make any further editing adjustments to finish the picture If you haven't seen it before, I made a second version of this tutorial using Photoshop. The first part of the tutorial is the same, but putting it together requires some extra steps, even if you're only using affinity photos I think it's still interesting that To see differences I hope you enjoyed this tutorial
