microsoft calender control
Before that, just to be clear, some people say my Outlook is not working and by outlook.com don't mean Microsoft Outlook, the program we are into Speaking of this article, I don't know why Microsoft chose to do this. It has the same name but that's how they did it and I get so many calls about it.
So much confusion that I have to ask what it looks like every time? What do you mean, your Outlook is not working, using a web browser or the program? Still don't know? So it's difficult to fix the problem without looking at it and seeing which one it's being talked about. So in this article, I'm talking about the program you install on your computer, not a website. and if you have a problem with your email in this program, you can check your add-ons and turn off all add-ons to see if they are causing a problem.
You can run it in Safe Mode by clicking the start button and just typing Outlook.exe / safe. You will then be asked to enter your profile.
Open it and see if the problems have been resolved. If it works with the new or safe mode, you may need to create a new profile or one of the add-ons is an issue. So if you need to create a new profile I'll show you how to do it.
Stay close. Okay, so to start with. We go to the start menu and enter control.
You see the control panel and can open it from there. Enter email to search for email and we'll open Microsoft Outlook. So from here you can manage your email accounts and data files, but we really want to get into show profiles.
When we do this, we'll see the one profile that I have. Actually, it would be set so that this profile is always used. So I accidentally had this on from my previous failed article recording.
So you didn't really see me. Okay if you go in here you have your profile and if there is only one it is set to always use that profile. However, we want to create another profile and when we open Outlook ask ourselves which profile we want to use.
So we'll change it when prompted, go to Add, give it whatever name you want to call it, and hit OK. Then you need to create your email address from here and you can run the wizard here to set it up normally. All settings are adopted from the settings of the previous profile.
So I can't tell you what these settings are. It depends on your email address and all of that. Now, if we cancel, we will get a message here that you can click OK if you want to create a profile without email accounts.
That's cool, we wanna do that. We got the new profile, but the problem is that we still can't open Outlook with this profile without setting up an email account or at least saving a data file in it. But at least that's the bottom line.
So when we press OK. We start Outlook. Here you can see that we are asked to use a profile.
So I can choose a new profile. If we open that and you haven't set up your email account earlier in the control panel when setting up this new profile, you'll be asked to set it up here. If you have multiple email accounts that you check in multiple data files or local PST files into, I suggest that you just add the one master account that is having the problem depending on the problem you are having in Outlook .
Troubleshoot one thing first and then see if this works on this new profile. Then you'll know the issues a new profile has fixed and you can move on to adding your other email accounts and other data files. That's it, and resetting Outlook is really just one step here to create a new profile.

Welcome to Outlook 2010 Email Views I'm Trainer LaurieWhat our email views are, our goal is to go beyond previewing them and use the defaults instead. We want to learn how to change and save the views, especially if you've ever got an error message and you said you need to reset your view, you can start over and it will show you the conditional formatting too. The first thing that is a great tip that a lot of people don't know is just right click on an email and open it in the new window so you don't need to have the calendar or the email, that you can have.
Both we go from the 'Home' tab to the 'View' tab. The first thing we want to look at is the reading area, which a lot of people like in certain ways, for example I'm a real person I like it on the right, but you can also turn it off if you want for that You have the option and under the options you have the possibility to choose how many how much are displayed in the navigation area. This is the normal view we can see on the right or the left here you can see the navigation pane is on and I like favorites on top and then I can put the ones I use all the time at the top, you can do that here uncheck you can also minimize it or offcompletelyylikes and you can choose if you want to have options, for example you can say I don't want to see any contacts but I want to see the journal so you can choose what you want to see in the order where you can see it in the navigation area you will see the drop down arrow there and one of the options is navigation area options.
So you have several ways to access it by running the bars on the right and if you have a lot of things on your to-do list and you want to keep track of things, that's a good thing to see, I don't, so cut down i like it and that just reminds me of my upcoming events, but that's about it you have options too, now this is the really most powerful one, okay if this is under change views there are actually three tools he re changeview view settings in reset view undercurrent view. So when we click on changeview you have three options compact there too and you can see that this is compact, I have two lines that show that you can change that if you want more than two lines to be shown individually where it only shows one line so if you have lots and lots of email and you really want to snap a snapshot of it now, when all you do is make the only note that instead of right clicking to buy heavier sorting options, they are icons become too small and you can just click on one of the icons which is one of the very quick ways to access what you want to see and then you also have the Preview option and note that the mycompact option is color coded and the mypreview option not when you select a view I use conditional formatting and so it is for the view and you can have as many views as you want n if you want more views you can have your own personalized view to create a new view you can sub-manage views and click New. Give it a name and choose the style you want.
Most people copy the view they have and just make some changes to it. I highly recommend that if you have a specific view that you would like, such as: B. your compact view to look a certain way you would copy this just in case, because if it crashes it is the original compact view that crashes and if you want to back it up again you would have to make a copy of it, so it is a very good idea to make a copy of a view if you want to change any of the views, you can save your current view as a new view as well.
So if you make all of your changes in the current view and then just hit Save, it will create a name for it. Remember, if you run into problems it will ask you to reset the view first. When you have all these great things that you want in your compact view for example, you need to reset them, but if you have a copy of i.
Have Not Ready For Goths you can just bring this back to your normal current view. So how can we make changes to how that would look? Let's go into View Settings and see, when you click View Settings, all of these different options come up here below and I'll show you the two most important ones first and then I'll show you all of the others so you can see what they do The first is Columns which columns I want to show in my view so that you don't scroll down and find all that are commonly used, you can also create a new column. So if there isn't one in it that is how you want it, you can create it and you can even choose the type and format.
Now in my columns you can see normal columns and this new column that I had named dog. Lover, so if that's something you want to do you can of course add your own, if you decide you know I really don't want this you can just right click on it and it will help remove formatting Really help you realize what is important. You can see here that Sara's email is red, which means it's important that I can see it very, very clearly.
It also has categories, but the fact that the text is red is conditional formatting is shown in the 'Conditional Formatting' tab and you can choose one first, you can add a new one, name it and then you can choose the font select who they want to make them look like, and then that specific condition, for example, all that's from Sara or where I'm the only person on the two line that you can also go to more choices and look at, for example, categories when i have already set a category that i can just use too and that makes it a lot easier than some other options we have, group by and you can see options in it, next is the sorting so that you can use it You can have it pre-sorted for you so you only search, especially if you receive hundreds of emails a day, you can filter so that you only get those from your boss or from a w Right customers and others can find ttingsat columns so they can change them, see you next time, thank you
