How do I change the size of a checkbox?

You can set the checkbox size by using the CSS width and height properties. Use the height property to set the height of the checkbox and the width property to set the width of the checkbox.

Hello. This tutorial will show you how to add interactive checkboxes in Excel. This is something you can use when you want to create to-do lists, to-do lists, to-do lists, or create forms where someone has to tick off options.

In this example we are creating a to-do list. We'll look at a few ways to do this. We'll first create check boxes that have the To Do item as the check box title, then we will create a list with the To Do in one column and the interactive check boxes in the column next to it.

The process for both is pretty similar, and each option has advantages and disadvantages. So let's start so that you understand what I mean. The first thing you should do is make sure your Developer tab is visible.

If you don't see it, take a moment and go to your File menu / Options / Customize the Ribbon here / and make sure Developer is enabled here on the right. The Developer tab contains tools that you can use to create interactive forms in Excel - like checkboxes. On the screen you can see that we have a short to-do list with 3 items listed in column B.

We are going to create checkboxes labeled with these task items. So on the 'Developer' tab we select 'Insert' and under Form Controls select the button with the checked box and click on it. And when you do, you will find that your cursor will now change to a small +.

So hold down the left mouse button and just drag your cursor to create a small rectangle. And this is your first check box. Now that we've created our first checkbox, we need to rename it to reflect the name of our first task.

To do this, right-click the check box and choose Edit Text. And then just overwrite 'Check Box 1' with your new task. 'Create a new template'.

And move the cursor outside of the field. Next we need to position our check box. To do that, I'll right click the check box and hit Escape so we can remove the dialog box.

And now I can drag this anywhere I want. So I'm going to place it over cell D4. And note that I'm saying about the cell because it's not actually an element in the cell, it just floats there.

Even so, I want it to fit in the parameters of this cell. To do this, I'll expand column D so that the check box is now within the parameters of cell D4. When you've done that, click Escape to clear the box and place your cursor in the cell.

And in the lower right corner of the cell where you see that little square, we just drag it down and this copies our check box for how many cells we're dragging down. Then just rename each checkbox. To do this, just right click on Edit Text and change the name like you did for the first field.

The other option we are going to go through is to simply enter your list of items like this in column B here and then just insert the check boxes. To do this, let's go back to the Developer / Insert tab / we click the checkboxes again and insert our checkboxes. Now this time we right click and edit text and instead of renaming checkbox 1 we are going to delete it.

Then we now only have one check box. And we're going to right click again to select it, Escape to get rid of the box, and we're going to position this like the others. And then we come back to the cell at the bottom right and just drag it down to create checkboxes for the others.

And this created an additional one so let's just right click on it / select it and delete it. This will only create check boxes next to the items. This allows you to create the fields faster and also gives you the flexibility to format your to-do list as you normally would in Excel.

So if you want to make it bold, highlight it, you can do all of these things. Our first option doesn't really let you do this, but the first option allows you to hide any items you don't want to see. And you would do this by going back to your Home tab and under the Edit section, choose Find and Select, and from here select the selection area.

And that opens this box that you see here on the right of my screen. And you'll find that each checkbox is listed by number, not the task name we created. So you need to remember the number of each of the checkboxes.

Another thing that you are going to see here is what looks like eyes. Well when you click on it you can hide individual check boxes. For example, if you want to hide 'Create a new template', that was our check box 1, we can click on that eye and now we won't see the check box anymore.

When we want to hide this box which was box 4 it just hides the box but you can still read the text. Depending on what you're working on, just choose the option that works best for you to create your interactive checkboxes in Excel. Hope you found this tutorial helpful in learning how to make a list of interactive checkboxes in Excel.

How do I make a small check box in Excel?

Here are the steps to insert a checkbox in Excel:
  1. Go to Developer Tab –> Controls –> Insert –> Form Controls –> Check Box.
  2. Click anywhere in the worksheet, and it will insert a checkbox (as shown below).
  3. Now to need to link the checkbox to a cell in Excel.

Adding a check box to an Excel spreadsheet is a little more complicated than putting an X in a cell, but it's also a little magical and I'll show you how it works. You can start treating your spreadsheet like a database in Excel, and that's part of the magic of Excel is that it's not just a place where you type numbers and add and divide and so on. It can be a database and it can be acted on by the data you put in there and help you make decisions in this cool way, so I'm going to show you how checkboxes work that way.

Here I made a very simple table. I have three foster kittens and I keep track of how good they are. I'm learning to play with different toys again, here is the feather toy and I count the number of times they catch the feather but if they catch it in the air they get extra points so I put a check box here for gloves to to see when it is his he catch it in the middle of the air a right now he doesn't have it because he's a lazy ass but say he gets up off his bum and catches the feather in the air i just have this Click the check box and you see that the cell underneath has changed from false, it wasn't caught in the air, yes, he did, and suddenly these bonus points underneath show that he gets three bonus points every time he catches it in the air and then his total score goes up by four What's magic about the Check Box Tool and all those other objects you can use in Excel, so now we're going to make a check box for my second kitten socks and the first thing to do is make sure you enable the developer menu in Excel go to File OptionsCustomize Ribbon and on the right you will see all the different menus you can have in Excel.

Go down and you see that Developer is not checked so I will check it click OK and now it shows the Developer tab at the top of Exce l which is great, I click on it, hit Insert and this box will come with all these form controls and ActiveX controls appear. This is like Wonderland for me, but we're going to check a box today so I'm going to click the check box and then go to The cell I want it in, click there and there it is now has this check box So move corner points You check the box in your table. Remember this is not like normal Excel data in the cell spreadsheet so I'm going to do a couple of things here I'm going to right click here and edit the text as I don't need that text next to the check box right now I'm going to right click in the corner points again and go to Format Control and here you set up some basic settings for the check box, e.g.

B. What default would you want for it to be disabled or mixed by default, which means that it is kind of grayed out and I want it to be disabled? by default so i will ke ep it this way and then i go to the cell link and this is where the magic starts if you paste a cell link here this cell reflects the status of the check box so i want my cell status in the cell below so click I click on this cell, the cell link is shown there I click OK Does it still look like something but look at that I click the check box and it shows true I click on it and false it shows a very simple true / false- On / Off data object and I could just sit here all day on a really boring day and just watch this come true, false, false, but that's the cool thing about how data entry works in Excel because I do that now have set up right / wrong I can set up a formula so that if I tick this box or uncheck it, Sox will be wrong and won't get his air points to match this one To catch pen, so we're going to show how that works, we're going to write a formula Here I enter if cell c6 is where false equals true, then Aktien gets three points and if it's not right he gets zero points so right now it says false, it gets zero points, but when I click that it catches it in mid-air it gets three points so now look at the check box on the cell below for true or false and it also causes the middle to show the bonus middle points as either zero or three so writing another formula where I add up his game times and his bonus points and now we have his total of five points and again this is all because of this Check boxes if i get this wrong all the points change if i make it true all change again So now you've seen objects like check boxes add a little magic to your excel spreadsheet en can. If you want to make the check box bigger 'Right Click' on it and bring up the properites menu. From there you want to click on the 'Format' tab and then you will find settings for the height, and width. Just play around with those numbers until you get your check box to the right size.

In this article we are going to try to show you how to add an extra item to your main form that you may have forgotten in a previous setup of the table and you don't want to go back and start all over and it will happen to all of us what we do this time is to show you how to add a check box to that main form. So if you want to display something that is a yes / no value from one of the tables, we can show you how to do it.It's a pretty tedious process, just complex but not particularly complicated, so I'll go back to that first Design view, close the type of this form and go to our tables and I have to choose my reservation table, what I will do, I add another field here called loyalty and this shows whether a customer has been to the restaurant before or not, and i am going to set this aboolean field as no field and obviously something can be shown as a check box on the form so i go g to save the table open this table i will make the first of my reservations there a little to one and the second is not actually now let's see if it works or not later so that has to appear on the form now so when i put the reservation form in Going to Design View, we're going to represent it by having a check box and just checking that box there and we'll go at it randomly and what we want to do is assign that check box to that particular field but unfortunately we have that field nowhere assigned to this form.

The first thing we have to do is add this field to the form and we can do that by clicking up here and this little black dot will appear and appear the properties of the form we have this huge big long statement under this record source that is now the source of all the data that appears on the form we can easily add another one by clicking on the little dots at the end scroll over until we find a blank area and now we are going to enter the field we are displaying want, now it's from our reservation table and I know it's the loyalty box so it's pretty easy to close it and I'm saying yes to two stores that it is all that is now. Now just close the properties, now obviously pin this and edit this now, and then do whatever it was in place of the check box, that safe loyalty. So if I quickly run that particular item, you can see that.

We have on and on / off on / off checkboxes there, but we haven't done everything that we save there in the table under Loyalty. So let's go back to the design view again controlsource which field we will assign to this drop-down list, hopefully somewhere in the lower area of loyalty and again I can close the properties, save them and then run and what we show I can now see that when I go through the two records that you can see that one often has a loyalty stick and the other doesn't. I can also make this one loyalty, now we have both saved as loyalty and if I now go back to the table where this information was saved we go to reservations we can now see that both now have loyalty, so you get a new one Add a field to a table and also add that field to a form and make it interactive there

The YouTube video is for an ActiveX check box. As Jamshed mentioned, if you insert a ActiveX version of the control, it can be resized. You insert an ActiveX version by choosing from the ActiveX control instead of form controls when inserting a new checkbox. Was this reply helpful?
