Okay, I'm going to give you some advice here on how to find the snipping tool.

I think it is probably already installed on your computer, it's just a matter of order and how to find it easier later so I have a very small view here of Windows 7 on my computer in my office and have a bunch of Applications down here in the system tray I want you to do so when you're working on your laptop. Go down there on the Windows Explorer icon click on it so I can easily change the view here little bitokay, this will show us different computer options we have available that are basically going to us after the snipping tool and if you don't see this right away you'll just want to go ahead and just click on the computer that has these options, what we're going to do is locate your C drive on your hard drive with a little double click on it a bunch of folders will open, what you want to do is go to the bottom window here and then we'll just scroll you down a bit to the system32 folder and just so you can chat and make sure you get to the right place If you look up here it will show this path on every choice we made Computer C Windows System32 fine, now we are in the System32 folder I will keep scrolling down here and my scroll bars are pretty far to the right so I wanted to drag this down here. We're looking for a file that starts with the namesnipping tool, so scan down, hyoeunpretty quickokay, I'm scrolling down a little too fast, I'm going up a bit and you'll see that it's actually a file near snippingtool there and what may well happen is that the snipping tool was basically disconnected or from your start menu well i go ot the wrong menu above i didn't quite right click on it but i click on this line to to view all these different options of places we can do with this link, what I suggest is that mine is pinned on my start menu I'm going to start by solving it so that it looks more like the situation you are in all right clicks see that there is this option to pin the Start menu, select that and then add it to the Start menu, which is what you should see then and we'll test this.

Move our view down here, just click the start menu and you'll see that on this list, which should probably also appear under Accessories, it may not automatically show up under Accessories, but the main thing is the pin to the Start menu so let me go back to that step back there, the main thing about the start menu is that it will open whatever that is going to go back too long, it shows up here in this list of start menu items so I just gave it atry and actually i'm too if you see this obscure menu, but or table that root there we go, so there's that snappy toolup there in the start menu and that's where it should come up again, so give it a try, it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if any advice I give regarding actually downloading the software, but anything I can while browsing ern on the internet seems to indicate that the problem is probably installed with Windows but it just doesn't show up there, well let me know if you have any questions

Where did my snip tool go?

Step 1: Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 (“C” is your system drive). Step 2: Locate SnippingTool.exe, right-click on it, click Pin to Start to pin Snipping Tool shortcut to Start menu. If it isn't there then you have System File damage which is remedied by running the System File Checker.

Hello everybody.

This article is primarily for students taking my Oklahoma City University digital literacy course, but it might be useful for anyone trying to paste a screenshot into a document or email. In this article, I'll show you how to take a screenshot using the Snipping tool on a PC, paste that screenshot into a Word document, and then save that document and upload it to a D2L course dropbox. Note that this tutorial is intended for PC computers only.

So if you're using a Mac you'll have to use a slightly different process. There is a small program on PC computers that most people are not familiar with, called the Snipping Tool. You can access the Snipping Tool by clicking the Start menu at the bottom here in the lower left corner of the screen and then either right-clicking the Snipping Tool link if it appears or, if not, for 'Snipping Tool' in the search box, then click that tool to open it.

If you now click on the snipping tool in the start menu, the tool will open and you can start taking a screenshot. A screenshot, of course, is an image of all or part of what is visible on your computer screen. You will notice that the Snipping Tool pop-up window here says, 'Drag the cursor around the area you want to record.' So that's what we're going to do.

Let's say I want to take a screenshot of this particular module right here on my screen. I'll start by clicking the mouse and you'll notice it's a little plus sign, I'll click that in the upper left corner of the area and then - while holding the mouse down - drag to the lower right corner of the area, and you will now find that the area I was trying to map is in full color while everything else is ghostly, and then I let go of the mouse. This will open up another window where I can see the part of my screen that I just 'snipped'.

From here I can do a lot of different things with this little picture, including writing on it or saving it in different formats, but all you really need to do now is copy the picture to your computer's clipboard so you can use it right away insert into a document. To do this, go to the Edit menu here and then select 'Copy'. Although we cannot see anything, this image has been copied to our computer's clipboard.

So now I can open a new Word document - I happen to have one here - and then paste the image into that document. To paste, I first click to make sure my pointer is where I want it to be. Then I can either press the Ctrl and V keys at the same time or right click and select the paste option - this is that little clipboard.

This will move the image from my computer's imaginary clipboard into this document. (As a side note, you can use the same procedure to paste the image into an email if you want.) Now I need to save my document so I can upload it to a d2l course again.

To do this, I select the file menu, then select Save, choose the location where my file should be saved - for now I go to computer and then put it on the desktop - I give it a title - and then click save. Now I've taken a screenshot, pasted this screenshot into a document, and pasted this document onto my computer. The last step is to upload this document - with my screenshot - to a dropbox in my D2L course.

So here I am on the digital literacy course. I quickly go to the Dropbox assignment link I need to send. So for this example, I'll click Content, go to Week1, scroll down to Take Screenshot Every Screenshot.

video.ui.exe windows 10

Then I can either drag and drop the file from my computer into this submission area or click the 'Upload' button, find my file here on the desktop, click Open, then scroll down a little and click Send to Dropbox . Now you can see that I'm getting a little Well Done message, it has been uploaded, and I've completed that part of the task.

Is Snipping Tool going away?

Way back in 2018, Microsoft confirmed that the Snipping Tool is going away and the modern 'Snip & Sketch' would be the default app for all your screenshots. In Windows 10 October 2020 Update or later, the legacy Snipping Tool still comes pre-installed and it cannot be removed.
