Roblox ping spikes - solutions to the problems

Why is my ping spiking in Roblox?

Encountering high ping values in Roblox can be caused by: Network congestion. Subpar Ethernet cable quality or outdated category (e.g. using Cat 7 instead of Cat 8) Connecting to a slow Wi-Fi instead of a wired network.

I love my friends today I want to talk to you about how to speed up your gaming device. It can help with Apple iPhone iPad Android Samsung PC Console and Nintendo Switch I have a lot of different tips for you here, so for example go in and I want to talk to you about one thing today is actually that let's go ahead and start here you're ready so come over here to settings okay so go ahead and go there and there are some things here that can help you so let's get down I may have more things than just iOS so just stick with it so let's go going to privacy so here we are ok in privacy and let's see here we are let's go to Motion of Fitness and if you have an Apple iPad you might just want to go ahead and turn this off. This could help you get better fps.

Okay so there you go, if you play you might want to go ahead and like this you want to go ahead and put it on airplane mode and you can do a few different things like: B. You might want to have it in airplane mode. Maybe you want to like it, let's say you have it like this without airplane mode.

You might want to go ahead and have some okay sleep that might help, or you might just want to go ahead and use it in airplane mode that you might need to have over wifi in order to be able to be okay, so one other thing is let's come here to come here. Give me a moment here let's go to iTunes and the App Store and there might be updates. Wait, wait, give me a moment here and a second I want to dig into more things then let's move on and move on updates let's move on and off that some of these things might help you that someone doesn't like the automatic downloads things that you might not want to while you're doing this you can go in and re-enable these like later or whatever uh, but here we go to the general and let's go to the background update of the app and you will see all of these things here, the one here help with your fps and so on, so let's get down to the general one here and then let's see a moment here let's control the display and brightness here is a background you might want for something very similar to one and this is . can also help you, let's get to data protection, i.e. the location services that you might want to deactivate - now, of course, think about security.

Maybe you turned it on for a purpose that you may need to turn it back on, don't do it if it's unsafe, but you might not have to like it. You might just want to turn it off and that can help you too. Another thing is that you might want to make sure bluetooth is turned off so you might want to go ahead and make sure that is off let's see here there's one other thing, give me a moment here you you might want to recycle before you start what I Like Ardrey has scheduled a hard reboot of my iPad.

desktop agent tray

I actually like to do it twice as soon as I actually have to do it twice, but you may want to do a hard reset before you even start playing. I do it with pleasure. As such, you may want to reset your computer, tablet, or phone before you do anything, before you even start now, you too may want your software to be up to date, probably not.

I don't think I have WiFi right now so it may not even tell me if I'm right now, but you may want to go ahead, make sure your software is up to date. This might help, and you may have to go ahead and update your software to continue. I am up to date.

Another thing you might want to do is, um, when I get here you'll see all of these windows open, you might want to go ahead and hide closed things Okay, close all tabs, um, another tip is if you do that Using WiFi You may want to make sure that you are the only person on WiFi, e.g. B.

Playing games or something like that. You are at home and have a wifi router and about five other people are on that wifi if there is any chance that you are the only wifi router that may really help you get better by loving a lot and not lagging behind and stuff like that uh give me a moment, see me, I have a lot of stuff in here so I just want to make sure that I want to make sure I hit a lot of things that you might want to consider too You can do a factory reset on your device sometimes and that can help, you may also want to clean up all of the unnecessary stuff on your device when you have unnecessary stuff. Maybe just go ahead and clean up the reboot I talked about earlier.

May be freeing up RAM, especially if you're on an um like on an Android and you might also consider using greenify, and you may also want to use your WiFi to update your internet service. That's another tip you might need as a tip that you might also want to get a better router, possibly a gaming router, to prioritize traffic for your device. You may also want to charge your device while you play it, but you don't want to let it overheat and when using it like an ethernet cable, let's say on your computer.

If you are using a computer or something like Direct Connect you may want to go ahead and may not be playing over wifi going to the actual router and that it can help the shorter the cable and can help you locate the actual modem rail or however you choose call it better to find. Okay, maybe you want to charge your device while gaming, but maybe not too much Speaking of overheating, I just got an Otterbox case on my iPad. You may want to take them with you and remove the protective case while you play.

This can help prevent your thing from overheating here could be something else waiting for exercise fitness ok that's disabled ok give me a moment here location and services are disabled you might also want to switch to ads and limit ad tracking is ok does that make sense for you? yeah that you might need it you might actually need that you might need to restrict the ad tracking for your device and that can help you too. Let me add the tracking. Here we go.

You can go ahead and click to limit ad tracking.

Either you are whatever you are receiving who are focused on your interests, so this can help you too. Location Services disabled, automatic downloads disabled, but for me, I really like to just reset the internet router or modem whatever before I start, and I actually enjoy reading. I do hard reset of my iPad two times before I start.

Instead of being like being in the back bedroom, away from that thing, you might want to try to be closer to the actual WiFi device and that can help you just a little to be closer to Dan. They can help you signal how to be better the closer you are, so these are just as I said. Some things you may have other things that you think are important when you do this, can you please let me know in the comments and let other people know and help? . [. [. ? . ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ?? ????????????????????? create something like a community of people now more eligible than they are.

Be really great if you can help with this, please be sure to leave polite comments if you think I missed something that's in Okay yeah i gave up i threw away a lot of tips and um, if you think something is wrong maybe you are right maybe you are not right but go ahead and let me know let me know if you believe that one tip was really great for you and just help everyone get better and better. So what I told you can you do pretty much help if you have a pc, it should be able to help you i think if you use a pc i'll pretty much likely switch aaa sony playstation any like a console whatever iPad iPhone our Android Samsung Galaxy S 9 10 whatever I am but one thing is that you might not want your stuff to get hot so you might want to have a fan too, but the gaming router might really help you too, so anyway my friends if you appreciate that please go ahead and hit the like button very quickly make sure and like it. - Delays in article games, shit. It is a statement and I am ready to sign it. Often times, delays occur due to factors beyond our control, but there could be a way to get less delays when playing online games with a VPN.

If you have any tips of your own on how to reduce delays, share them with us in the comments below and subscribe to our channel if you found this article helpful and don't want to miss out again. (jazzy music) Delays are a common occurrence in article games and they can ruin the whole experience for you. High ping is probably the main reason for delays.

Ping is displayed in milliseconds and is the time it takes for your game data to reach the game server I'm back, the lower that number, the less lags you have.In an ideal world, a ping under 50 milliseconds is just what you need for fast-paced games, while less-timed games like MMOs can tolerate as much as 100 milliseconds . And if you are a fan of turn-based games, even up to 200 milliseconds tolerable.

At this point, you may be wondering, okay I see, but does using a VPN lower the ping? Well it depends. Playing with a VPN is useless unless you know how to use a VPN to lower your ping and which VPN can improve your ping. First you need to know where your game's servers are, and then one Connect to the closest VPN server so your data doesn't have to bypass firewalls between your device and a DNS server.

computer freezes vista

If you choose a server correctly, there will also be less traffic through it which improves performance. Of course, more distance means less effectiveness. If the game server is near you, the ping will drop, otherwise not so much.

Speed isn't the only positive thing about VPNs, however. If you dream of hosting a local tournament or just gathering friends for a big playoff, VPN can keep you safe from DDOS attacks and offer great security. While unlikely, top VPNs still have enough security features to keep you safe in these cases, or it can help you gain access to games or services that aren't available in your country.

All of these benefits can only be achieved through the best gaming VPN and so far I can only offer you three services that match the bill. Certain features are required for VPN gaming, free services just aren't enough Don't be shocked that the VPNs on this list get paid. Although I have a way to lower the price, more on that later.

Because we're starting with NordVPN, and this is an exciting one of the fastest speeds available with the Nordlynx protocol, but it also has a large number of servers, over 5,000 in 59 countries. That means you can always find a server for your game and connect to it quickly and seamlessly. In general, when you're in China, you could have issues using VPN and that's hard to fix.

NordVPN has no problem obfuscating its connection and bypassing most firewalls, but the situation is more difficult in China, so you'll need additional configuration to make it work. With features like capabilities that you'd imagine a high price, NordVPN is pretty reasonable, sure a month's subscription is expensive, but in the long run it's one of the cheapest VPNs out there. On the flip side, you can get a 30-day money back guarantee in a single month.

But NordVPN isn't the only VPN I recommend. Surfshark is another provider that can be used reliably for gaming. Over 3,200 servers in 60 countries and top-tier Wireguard-powered speeds are exactly what the doctor ordered to lower your ping and improve your gaming experience.

And thanks to the camouflage mode, you can play with VPN even behind the toughest firewalls, though it is even more difficult in China and it may not always work. But perhaps Surfshark's biggest selling point is its price. This VPN is one of the cheapest long-term VPNs out there, and it still comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

And yet that's not the end. For desert, I have ExpressVPN. This has great performance thanks to 3000 servers in 94 countries and proprietary light tweight tunneling protocol.

Automatic stealth mode, turns your connection covertly when deep packet inspection is detected, which can be enough to bypass most censorship, except maybe in China. However, ExpressVPN is the most expensive among VPNs today and that's a problem, although no one has canceled the 30-day money-back guarantee. Well, I've said free VPNs aren't an option here, but honestly, you could try these three.

They have fewer features and worse performance than the paid options I talked about, but if you're connecting to a very nearby server and don't need the most optimal ping, these VPNs can help you for free. Last but not least, if you do before that didn't know how to use a VPN, let's make sure you do it now. VPNs only lower the ping when you connect to the server that is closest to the game server you are using.

So first find out which server you are closest to. That would take some research, but most games have this information in hand, then you'd need to connect to the VPN server closest to that game server. It would only take a few clicks.

If your speed is poor, the server may be overloaded with other users. So try to reconnect. That way, VPN will find a server with less bandwidth for you in the same country.

Hope you found an answer to your question today, do VPNs lower ping or not? But honestly, the answer depends on your personal experience. Is VPN good for gaming? Sure, these three are really good, but sometimes their performance could be hindered by the poor quality internet service providers with unstable connections, bandwidth limitations, and other factors that can cause ping spikes and thus delays. I encourage you to check out these VPNs come with a 30 day money back guarantee and only if they work for you. make a long-term commitment.

And if you do decide to buy a VPN, click the link in the description below for a discount on the VPN you want. If you already use VPN for gaming, be sure to leave a comment. And if you liked this article, like and subscribe to this channel.

See you, bye. (upbeat music)

Why does my ping spike randomly?

Ping spikes happen because somewhere between you and what you are pinging packets are being buffered before being processed. Normally this is because more packets are arriving to the router than it can processes and so your packet has to wait it's turn.

What's up guys Rogue-9 here, and in today's article, I'd like to put a little spotlight on the subject of peeker advantage, ping abuse, and how latency in general affects your experience when playing a first-person shooter that uses server-side hit validation Dying from a high ping enemy who manages to kill you before it even appears on your screen is super frustrating and as we all know, the higher the enemy's ping, the more time they'll have to shoot you after turning a corner, right? WRONG! This is one of the most common misconceptions about the benefit of scouts, and I have believed in it for a long time myself. I'll explain the various problems in this article using Rainbow Six Siege, but these concepts apply to all games that use server-side hit validation, so the results apply to pretty much all modern online first person shooter games out there. And with that we finally get to it! Before I start explaining how and why your opponent's ping doesn't matter at all with the peeker advantage, let me first briefly cover some of the basics to make sure we're all on the same page.

Ping, this number that is shown to us in online games: this is the time it takes for a message to travel from your PC or console to the server and back. Latency is the time it takes for a message to travel on any leg of this journey, from your device to the server or from the server to you. So latency is basically half the ping.

Times are usually displayed in milliseconds. How Now, does this affect the gameplay? Well, if you provide input to the game on your device (e.g. move your character, actually use your weapon or device, or anything else) that input will be in the local game client registered on your computer and your character will take the required action.

At the same time, a message is sent to the server letting it know what you chose in your game and it takes half the time of your ping plus the processing time of up to one tick for the server to receive and understand this message. I'll keep things simple in the examples below and run out of processing time on the server and client and we'll just assume they're the same for all players, even though a player running the game at a very low frame rate will of course be in the It is disadvantaged compared to others, but the fact that it is a completely different topic has now reached the server, is processed and then of course has to be sent to all other players and the time it takes for the message of your original action to reach the other players , depends on their individual latencies. All of this causes a ghosting effect.

As you move around on your device, your character as depicted on the server will be left behind by half of your ping and then you will have to add half the other players' pings on top to see the time lag compared to that what they see on their PCs or consoles. Does it make sense so far? Well! I've tested this in-game, but before I show you, here's a quick word from today's sponsor! This article is sponsored by Drop, the former Massdrop company and their product, the Sennheiser PC37X gaming headset! I now own this headset For many months and still happy to recommend it! Sennheiser is of course known for making high quality speakers and great speakers that translate into great sound quality. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time, I would say that this headset is a great all-in-one solution for anyone looking for a microphone and headphone combo, but not just taking my W Order it.

The Item currently has a great customer rating of over 4.5 out of 5 stars. So if you are looking for a new headset I can definitely recommend the PC37X and if you use the link in the description below you will get a $ 30 discount automatically deducted upon checkout! Thanks to Drop for their support Be honest, playing with a high ping is never a great experience.

On the one hand, stupid things can happen: As you can see in this clip, where both players have a high ping, I landed a total of 5 headshots on Rook here before I lost the shootout. 100% ridiculous and what's worse is that in the death cam replay you can still see me supposedly firing 5 bullets before Rook reacts! What really happened in this clip is that Rook actually fired a split second in front of me and since his shots were registered on the server first, all my follow-up hits were rejected and I lost the fight, everything went perfectly as it was The player who shot first (with both players having a pretty bad ping) won the fight. But how does a high ping affect spying? This is what being seen on a server looks like on which both players have a pretty high ping ...

I think it's fair to say that this was pretty much an instant death; I really didn't have a chance to react. Now let's look at this situation in a local game where the ping of both players is 1ms ...

Ok, that was pretty instant too ...

In fact, if we put the two clips next to each other, you can see that they are practically identical and any deviation is most likely due to the human factor that I am not perfectly reproducing the peek in both tests ... but shouldn't a high ping make a big difference in the victim's experience, for the benefit of the scout? , this is where the most common misconception about the Peeker advantage comes into play.

The higher the ping of the scouting player, the stronger the ghosting effect on the server, BUT this does not give him any advantage over hit validation, it takes just as long for the player's shots to be registered on the server and this basically nullifies any advantage that would result from the higher ping of the peekers. Let that sink in for a second: The ping of the peekers doesn't matter, because any advantage in terms of the time you get to see your opponent before the server registers is used up by the time the shots are registered. The peeker upside is still a real thing, but it's actually the victim's ping that matters here.

Many seasons ago the Rainbow Six development team shared a visual example on a blog post and why I am not going to walk you through this guide step by step to explain what I mean. In this example we have player 1 (with a high ping of 200 ms) spying on player 2 (who has a lower ping of 100 ms). ping) to have the information about this move sent to Player 2's PC or console.

At the point in time at which player 2 gets to see the gaze, player 1 has already been completely exposed for a full 150 ms. 150 ms after that, player 1 fires (we assume a reaction time of 300 ms) and it then takes 100 ms for this information to reach the server. If player 2 manages to shoot early enough for his shots to reach the server first, wins he's still the gunfight and his own 50ms latency also plays a role in gunfight and that's the response time of player 1 minus ping of player 2.

In a perfect world we would have no delay at all and it would just be that whoever shoots first wins, as long as you can aim and shoot faster than your opponent. But since it's all about who registers their shots on the server first, the downside for player 2 is that it takes 50ms to see the opponent after the server has already registered the peek, and then the extra 50 ms, which are required for player 2 to register shots on the server. Player 2 is penalized twice by his latency, which adds up to his ping and therefore explains the above-mentioned window of opportunity of the scout's formula of opportunity: Player 2 has to react faster than player 1's reaction time minus ping of player 2.

I hope this little example helped me see where I was going because it was a complete revelation to me when I found out that it is my own ping that gives the opponent an advantage, not something like 'ping abuse' it really doesn't exist ...

If an opponent has a very high ping, they have no advantage if they spy you, but they get a serious disadvantage if you spy on them. Any advantage of a scout that you see over yourself is down to your ping and processing time on the server / machine. No more and no less.

And beyond that, the downside of a high ping goes even further because if you ever find yourself in a shootout where both players ping each other at the same time, on their clients, the player with the higher ping will lose as their shots reach the server later and if he's already marked dead on the server, his hits will be rejected, resulting in an overall win for the low ping player. BUT: why then do we have these experiences all the time where we die without the opponent ever up appears on our screens?! And why is it almost always against players with a bad ping?! Maybe the answer is that these deaths are more on perspective than on lag ...

Maybe we notice suspicious deaths more when the opponent has a high ping, because that fits in with the common understanding of the peeker advantage. I'm just guessing here, of course, but the fact is that in games with server side hit validation; there's no plausible reason why pinging the scout should do them any good. I hope my little foray into this frustrating topic has brought a little more clarity to the subject.

Is 400 Ping bad?

Ping amounts of 100 ms and below are average for most broadband connections. In gaming, any amounts below a ping of 20 ms are considered exceptional and “low ping,” amounts between 50 ms and 100 ms range from very good to average, while a ping of 150 ms or more is less desirable and deemed “high ping.”

Hey what's up folks, in this article today we're going to discuss a number of different things regarding ping in Fortnite. For the longest time, I've never really felt myself qualified to make a article on the subject, as I've only seen one side of the ping spectrum for most of my life in Fortnite. Since I live in New Jersey, which is one of the best places in the country and maybe even the world to get a really good ping on Fortnite, I hover in the 5-15 ping range most of the time, and sometimes I even hit on certain games to 0.

However, a couple of weeks ago I was on vacation for 2 weeks and brought enough of my setup to play some Fortnite at night when there was nothing else to do Let's just say the place I stayed had definitely not the best internet so I played with somewhere between 70 and 120 pinging with around 100 being the average. This experience showed me firsthand how different it really was to play at 100 ping compared to playing at 0 ping. So what I want to do in this article is to talk about the differences between really high and really low ping that not everyone is aware of, and then discuss how you should play and how to be successful with high ping and how you are it should play when you have a really low ping.

So, without further ado, let's get started right away. Okay, so at the beginning of this article I want to briefly touch on some of the lesser-known disadvantages of high ping. No matter what article game you play, ping and overall latency have a significant impact on certain things.

But given the fact that Fortnite is a 100-player lobbies game, and it also has super complicated mechanics like creating and editing, there is a solid argument that ping is more important in Fortnite than any other game out there. So I suspect that pretty much anyone watching this article will be aware of the fact that this is probably the biggest downside to playing at high ping is the fact that you will really struggle to break through enemy walls and to replace, but the same enemies can break in and replace your walls with relative ease. But like I said, everyone already knows that, and it's not the only downside of playing on high ping, either.

One aspect of high ping that is likely not getting enough attention is that almost everything in Fortnite feels delayed, and that can turn out to be one A variety of reasons can be very problematic that are not so easy to spot. If I told you that players with a higher ping actually do more structural damage than players with a lower ping, you probably wouldn't believe it. In certain situations, however, this is actually 100% true.

A few days ago a clip popped up in the Fortnite community that actually showed this firsthand. So in this clip, I'll show you that the first player will shoot through a collection of structures while pinging around 120. Then he'll have his friend shoot the exact same collection of structures with the exact same weapon, the only difference being that he's somewhere between 15 and 20 pings, so about 100 lower.

And as you will see, this test is going to give some pretty interesting results. Hope this was easy to understand, despite everything being the same for both players, the player with the much lower ping did about 100 additional structural damage from just a single clip of the silenced SMG than the player with a much higher ping. This may seem really crazy right now, but there is actually a really concrete explanation of why this happened and it relates to the massive downside of the high ping.

Every time the high ping player broke a structure in this clip, the game didn't register it fast enough due to their high ping. When that happened, 1 ball basically landed on a wall that no longer existed in the game. You can basically say no with simple math, that's true.

realtek 8822be issues

In the clip, 4 structures were broken which would mean 4 bullets had no problem with Amage because of the server lag. The blue suppressed SMG deals 24 structural damage per shot, so 24 times 4 is 96 less damage, which is exactly the amount of less damage the high ping player did in this test shows how absurd some of the downsides of high ping are actually can be. And even if you may never spray 4 perfectly lined up structures in a row, the same problem of shots not registering because they hit walls that no longer exist can still crop up in other much more common situations.

For example, when you spray a wall that a player is constantly replacing with turbo buildings. Low ping players can constantly sneak shots through the turbo building, while high ping players have pretty much no chance of doing the exact same thing. It's really unfortunate, and it definitely involves a lot more than just the specific examples I mentioned, but unfortunately that's something you have to do o live with when you have a high ping.

Now let's talk about how you should gamble to give yourself the best chance of success regardless of your ping. The situation where the pros and cons of ping are most obvious is in hand-to-hand combat, including building and editing. And since the average gamer is good at Fortnite now, I can rightly say that the majority of hand-to-hand combat will involve at least some building and editing.

Now I want to clarify something here, to break it and replace walls, it's not as easy as some people think. I've heard a lot of people say something like, 'Oh, if you have 0 ping, it means you are guaranteed to have a lower ping' than anyone you face so you can climb any wall on the first try. Sure, with 0 ping you have a huge advantage in this situation, but as long as your opponent is close to your ping and turbo builds the walls, you're probably going to have some difficulty replacing them even if you break the fastest possible Use -and-replace method.

Understand that when it comes to your own average ping, the concept really matters. For example, if you're someone who pings in the 20-40 range, you may struggle to break through and replace your enemies' walls when they're building a turbo, but unless you're dealing with a player To do super low ping you can probably also build a turbo to keep your walls from being captured in most situations your ping is a little over 60 or so, and especially if you're at or near the three digit number, you are the ones that basically have to spin your entire close range game around your ping. Basically, whenever you are in a position where you are going back, you have to assume that you will have your wall removed immediately.

That means you have to be ready to put a ramp in front of you and then work the back wall asap, downside, if someone comes back to turtles you have to assume you won't be able to capture their wall. This is a bug that I see in so many players, and it really applies to all players, even guys with super low pings. If you try to break through and replace an enemy's wall and it doesn't work for the first 2-3 tries, chances are it just will never work.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't completely give up putting pressure on him, but it also means that you don't try to do the same thing over and over again. Trying to break into a 1x1 player puts you in such a vulnerable position that you make a lot of noise and only focus on what is in front of you. So after those 2-3 failed attempts to defeat the turbo building, you need to get creative.

As I like to say here, if you can't beat the speed, you have to outsmart them. And in case you missed it, I would really recommend checking out tip # 1 on my last article, titled 5 fortnite tips I Wish I Had Knew Before - # 3, this tip hands down the best way down an enemy wall in Fortnite, which doesn't depend on whether you have a ping advantage at all. And the same motto of outsmarting your opponent when you can't overtake them can also be applied to the editing reliably at high ping, so you need to make a conscious effort to avoid situations where you need to make a quick edit in order to either to get a kill or not to die.

If you don't, you'll be so frustrated by how many times do you think you can get to perfectedit super fast, but because of your ping, it doesn't. So, I hope you enjoyed this article and if you've seen the whole thing, please let me know with a comment below in the comments section. I want to know what is your personal average ping while playing Fortnite.
