Hey guys HalfwayDead here, since Rocket League's DirectX 11 support came out, I've been asked to make a article about it.
The problem, however, was that aside from a few tests, there wasn't really much I could say beyond what was in the patch notes. Anything else would have been blind speculation. But then I figured I might as well try contacting Psyonix to see if they're willing to give me a little more information.
And I was pleasantly surprised by what I got back to, but before I get into that I want to briefly mention that if you like the content please share and subscribe, these things really help a lot. My first question to Psyonix was: 'Why was Rocket League switched? DX11? It is certainly more modern, but that alone doesn’t justify the effort. Can we get information about what’s going to be done with it? Is it going to improve multi-threading performance? Are there any graphics improvements planned for it? ”The answer:“ We're off Switched to DX11 for several reasons, including to have all platforms onShader Model 5, and to prepare the PC game client for new, unannounced features that we could not previously create with DX9.
Although we cannot go into the details of these unannounced features, they will be easy to spot in the future. ' Okay, unfortunately this answer wasn't quite as specific as I had hoped, but I fully understand why they are unwilling to release information about planned features early on. In any case, we will know that there are unannounced graphics features The mention of the shader model is relevant to save the developers some time, although personally I don't quite understand it as DirectX and the associated shader model are Microsoft technologies, which shouldn't run on Playstation or Switch, feel free to leave a comment.
My next question was, 'Will DX9 be supported in the future?' 'We'll end support for DX9 in Rocket League later this year with an update. Along with the reasons I mentioned earlier, we switched to DX11 because it's still supported by hardware manufacturers like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. So when bugs like the recent image sharpening issue show up they are still ready and able to release updates to fix these bugs surprisingly, keeping 2 versions just takes a lot of effort and would many of the reasons why they did the Mac / Linux versions have discontinued and have even switched to DX11 at all.
The minimum requirements of the game have also changed DX11 since their last change. Even so, it's good to have this confirmed by an official source, so we now know for sure. Many people probably didn't want to hear this answer because of performance issues with the DX11 version.
So my next question was, 'Have there been in-house performance tests on a variety of hardware? I was asked about the performance by several onlookers, but all I could do was report on my own computer. '' Of course! We tested thoroughly and found similar performance between the DX9 and DX11 clients on much of the hardware our PC players use. The immediate benefits are fewer problems, improved stability (e.g. less time for Alt + Tab in and out of the game), and a more stable frame rate. ' That was their official answer.
For example, if you go on reddit, you will see many examples of players complaining about the performance. Of course, the players who are doing well for would not be complaining there, so this is a skewed example. I can only report what I heard from various sources, and that ranged from slightly higher fps and less jerking to much lower fps and a lot of stuttering.
In general, the trend seems to be that the older the computer, and especially the graphics card, the DX11 seems to do worse. If you don't meet the new minimum requirements, then not much can be done for you. At that limit, Psyonix decides to officially endorse you hardware, and if you drop b after that, you'll have to upgrade if DX9 is removed.
However, there are players with modern computers who have also had problems. And I'm unlucky or lucky to encounter some performance issues that I can tell you about. I ran DX11 fine.
However, a few days ago the game seemed to be going really bad and I really have no idea why it was worse. The DX9 version seemed unaffected. However, I was able to fix my problems by uninstalling Rocket League, renaming the folder in my Documents, disabling Steam Cloud and reinstalling the game - I'd say this is worth a try for anyone - if you're still having issues, report it this now to Psyonix instead of just using DX9 and then having to be screwed down once it's removed.
My own frame rate on DX11 is still measurably lower on average but tends to be less pointed, you can check that kind of information by opening the performance graphs by pressing F10. Lastly, input lag. I don't test this with every patch, but an API ch Ange definitely justifies it.
I tested my most stable scenario with minimal graphics at 1000 FPS. This gave me 0.5ms more input delay than DX9.
I then repeated the same thing at 240 FPS and got 0.7 ms more input delay. And with high graphics I also got 0.4 ms more than DX9.
This doesn't really matter, but I still wanted to see if I could narrow down what might be causing the difference. In fact, it was evident in the performance charts. The number you see under GPU is the milliseconds it takes for the GPU to render a frame.
If it takes 0.5 ms longer, the frame will be displayed 0.5 ms later, resulting in a difference in input lag.
This means that the input lag of the Rocket League DX9 and DX11 is identical. Assuming I got the same performance. All right, so to sum it up.
We'll see some graphical tidbits in the future because of DX11. DX9 will be removed at some point. DX11 should run similarly to DX9 on modern hardware.
If so, don't try to fix the issues now. No problem as long as the performance is equivalent. If you liked the article, share and subscribe.

How do I reinstall dx11 on Windows 10?
- After a while, you will see a pop-up window that shows the DirectX version you installed in the System tab.

What's going on guys! Today I want to show you how to crash Black Ops 2 and other older games that crash on Windows 10.
Most of the problems are the games not running on Windows 10 and if they crashed while joining a game / lobby. There are several ways to fix it. I previously did 3 articles in English on how to do it.
But today I want to do a summary of the 3 articles in German (with English subtitles). As I said, there are 3 ways to solve this problem The first is: Set startup options in Steam. The option tells the game to use DirectX 11, not 12.
The second is: Download and install DirectX 11. It may not be installed properly. Below is a link to download a folder of 'DirectX 11.2' files and later I'll show you how to find DX 11 files in the Black Ops 2 folder.
The third and last is: to prove the game files in Steam. To set the 'Startup Options': 1. Go to your' Steam Library'2.
Right click on the 'Game'. (Black Ops 2) 3. then click on the 'Properties' button 4.
On the 'General' tab, click on the 'Set startup options ...' button 5.
Enter '- dxlevel 112' to tell the game: Use DirectX 11.2. This is the correct DirectX for Black Ops 2.110 would be 11.0 and 111 would be 11.1.
After that, you can click 'OK' and close the 'Properties' window. Try to start the game! If it still doesn't work, DirectX 11 is not installed or could not be installed. Install DX 11: 1.
Right-click the game again -> 2. 'Properties' -> 3. Click on the 'Local files' tab -> and 4. 'Browse local files ...' .
The folder with the game files opens. Now you need the compatible DirectX files that are somewhere. (Search DirectX if you can't find it) In my case they are in the 'redist' folder Inside is the DirectX folder with lots of files, now find the 'DXSETUP.exe' file Now run 'DXSETUP.exe 'and follow the steps.
Setup will install the compatible DirectX files. Before trying to start the game, make sure to set the' Startup Options' again. If it still doesn't work, it may be another one Problem give, but you can also prove the full game files with Steam. (maybe one has been lost) To prove game files: 1.
Right click on the game -> 2. 'Properties' -> 3. 'Local files' -> 4.
and now on 'Check integrity of game files ...' It will all Check Black Ops 2 files for errors.
Leave me a comment if it still doesn't work and we can find a solution Steam has downloaded 3.4MB. Maybe a file was wrong.
You can use this function for every game on Steam. I hope you enjoyed it, leave a like there and see you next time :-)
Is there a way to reinstall DirectX?
You can't uninstall DirectX (effectivly). But it can be repaired by using the DirectX Redist (June 2010) installer package if there are corrupt files.
Today's topic is ditectX error, in general it can occur in any game if your DirectX application is not available or not updated the software you install for games You need resources of your systemdirectx is a bridge between your operating system and the game takes the necessary resources from Operating System, and after you install your game and when you try to run it, give the Gameso.
It failed 'and shows an error requires at least ..' Whatever the version 9-11-10 Errors can occur like 'older direct x version' or 'newer' DirectX version required '' your computer does not support ' error messages can be different, game by game direct x error occurs in each of your games, but the only way to fix the error is by one method, which I'll tell you sometimes we have the directx, on our machine but the Error still comes but you still need to download iti will explain you all the techniques how to do it.
The first step is: we need to know what version of Direct-X we already have installed for this first command to open by pressing the window, the command window will run. rrun command window appears write heredx diagnosticsdxdiag in shortpress ok the entire Direct-X diagnostic tool is displayed in front of the usbios. Here is the system information and our Direct X version is 12, it's software from Microsoft and we're going to download it from a Microsoft site, we have a latest version as we now know our direct X versions.
Always download the latest but before that we do something else see what software we are installing, see regedittype regedit by pressing the window key, you can write it in Run write command and open it will appear, press yes to the registry to open. Editing is very important in our computer, as it is in real life when we buy land or something. We have to register it so that when we install a software, the registry editor registers all the software on our computer version etcregistered hereso if an old direct x version is installed then you have to adjust a little g here first go to hkey local machine, these are very easy steps to follow, understand with logic that we need to go to our local computer and then on our local computer to see our software, here is the local computer software list, click the software after expanding the hkey local machine tree view which is here it says we need to look for Microsoft software and here is the Microsoft tree view, here is our Microsoft software list, here we find the Directx, look for it by the letter that appears on the right side of the screen1.
is default, no need to edit or delete it and here is the installed version and because we are going to change it right click the installed version and delete it why we delete it because it already has a registry the installed version there because we'll be installing newer versions, so we're deleting the registry too, why am I telling you this? because it could also be a bugMaybe the newer version was installed but the registry remained unchanged, so I double-check that our game is safe and the error clears the registryokso after deleting it, close it after that, your very important job is to download the directxum download directx what you need to do I put the link in the description box to download it, but there is one more way I will explain to you. Just type direct x into browser what is downloading is the very confusing thing unwanted application can be downloaded there virus can download this to get rid of this go to microsoft link there is only one button to download no confusion click on download, ok click on no thanks here we don't need these thingsnot just 286kb application, it will be downloaded quick here click view in folderRun as administrator while we downloaded it from microsoft web sitenote so we don’t need to do registry settings click I accept as always click next, it will be installed, ok after that there is only one thing left to do just to check for another problem I told you a couple of things e.g.
B. deleted this registry version when it is new install version replace registry but I have also checked this problem, for some exceptional cases like this, we have turn windows features on and off option press window key write windows function you get these windows features switch it on or off click on it, a new window will appear window of the Windows functions in this go down here You will get the legacy component here it is, see Legacy components expand the tree view You get direct playback here If these are not activated, check the both like this one from Mineok, if you are not activated then check them, press OK afterwards out, how to start we have donedxdiag checkhere you can check and after the game play the game it is afterwards you will be free of directx problems so friends how was the vid eo please tell us below and don't forget to subscribe to it, share it, tag the friends on social media as thank you for watching the article until the next article goodbye
