In this article tutorial I will explain how to write IMEI on a Mediatek Android device using the GSM Aladdin box.
To do this you now need two things, of course you will need your VCOM drivers and your GSM Aladdin box. Before installing your VCOM drivers, it is important that you disable signature verification on your PC if you are using Windows 8 and higher. We already have instructions on how to do this on our YouTube channel, and in the forum we have instructions on Windows 7 don't you need that ok Alright! Once you've disabled this (I did that on this PC), now you'll need to install your MediatekVCOM drivers.
To do this, start the device manager. In Device Manager, you just have to highlight any item in the lists and then click on Action - Add Legacy Hardware - Next - Install the hardener I choose manually from the lists - Next - Next - Have Disk - Browse. Now you need to navigate to the folder where your VCOM drivers are fine.
I have mine in the Hovatek folder - Drivers - USB-VCOM drivers. If you are using Windows 7 and above, open the Windows 7 folder otherwise, select the appropriate version of Windows you are using from these folders so that I am using Windows 10 so I will open the Windows 7 folder. Well, is that for 32-bit PCs and is that okay for 64-bit PCs? I am using a 64-bit PC.
To confirm this, go to This PC or My Computer - Properties and there you have it. Mine is a 64 bit pc ok? Ok? So I'll come back to select the 64-bit version - Open - OK. Now select Mediatek Preloader USB VCOM Port and click on Next - Next and then wait until the driver is installed.
Alright! So we have installed the following harder installed drivers you click on Finish. If you see the yellow warning sign here, don't worry. This is because you installed an unsigned driver, okay? So Windows tends to think the driver is not working, so don't worry, ok? After installing drivers we need to go to the GSM Aladdin box.
I installed my own here (Programs GSM Aladdin). I'm using the loader version so I just start the loader. Alright! So at this point you need to have your IMEIwish to write on the floor and you need to have your phone on the floor.
Now you have to turn off the phone but not connect it yet, ok? Just turn it off with the battery and wait for GSM Aladdin to show up. This seems to be taking a little longer than it should, but I'll wait for it to come anyway. This can also work for smartwatches, individual IMEI MTK devices, MTK devices in general.
This will take a while ok i guess I'll just try restarting it. I can close that. Yes, sometimes your antivirus can interfere too, although in my case I don't think antivirus is okay.
Antivirus this can take a little longer too, okay? So I should have my GSM Aladdin box up and running at any moment, OK, yes, I have it up and running now. So at this point select Mediatek and then click on Repair IMEI. Leave them as they are (model options).
Leave these as the default and then enter the IMEIs you want to write on the MediatekAndroid device so just let me drop sample IMEIs. So you will also tick Android and tick again. (don't forget that) and click Connect (above).
Don't worry about this mistake, it's just a normal thing. Now click on start. When your phone is switched off and you do not hold any keys, connect it to the PC with a USB cable.
So I'll do that in a moment. Switched off, battery in, no button pressed, connect to PC via USB. I have a recognition and writing is in progress.
It's very important that you don't interrupt this process, okay? I have an IMEI OK. At this point, you can disconnect and restart your PC and confirm that your IMEI was successfully written. How to write IMEI on Mediatek Android device with GSM Aladdin box
