Powerpoint blur text - how do you decide
Is there a blur tool in PowerPoint?
First, open PowerPoint and navigate to the slide containing the image you want to blur. Select the image, and that automatically opens the “Picture Format” tab. Next, select “Artistic Effects” from the “Adjust” group. In the drop-down menu that appears, click the Blur option.
Hey Camille and I are here to show you how to remove the background from an image or make the background transparent in the latest version of PowerPoint to look like a removed background. In this first example I have the silhouette of a woman's face. You'll find that this image is actually larger than just the silhouette, and that's because it had a white background removed underneath so that the gray background of the slide comes through.
In this next example, I have a man here and I have removed the background behind the man and you can see if I want to reset the image that this actually had quite a complex background behind him. but I was able to remove it so that the foil background shows through. The next example is a similar situation with a woman.
You can see that the picture is actually much larger, and I've removed the background from her too, and the same goes for this man here. In order to now remove the background from an image, you actually have two methods in PowerPoint. Number one with a transparent color tool set and number two with the background removal tool Remember that there is no option for vector graphics files like assvgs wms and DRWs.
So if it doesn't work for you, then you probably have one of these file types and you may want to consider switching to either JPEG or PNG either method; method number one, the transparent color tool by default. First, paste an image onto your slide, then make sure you've selected it. When you have your picture, go to the Picture Tools Format tab and find the Color Command drop-down menu.
You will see the tool for setting the transparent color. Click on it, and your cursor will turn into a little pencil with an arrow on it. Now when you click the area you want to remove, PowerPoint will take that area and make it transparent.
That works really well. If you have stock photos or product photos, any type of photo with the background is very, very sharp. Keep in mind that while this tool is pretty amazing, it has limitations.
For example, it can be quite difficult to separate the object you want to stay away from the background that you want to remove. If the two are very similar, like this example, then it won't work if your background isn't a uniform color or if it's gradient like in these two examples.It's quite difficult to remove the background around strands of hair like this one Example.
In summary, this method is the fastest and most effective way I know to remove the background from an image right in PowerPoint. When the picture and background are very simple and straightforward. If not, you have to go to method number two.
So method number two, the background removal tool. First you need to put an image on your slide. Once you have the picture select it and then go to the 'Picture Tools' tab here and look for the remove background nd command, when you click on it you will see that PowerPoint will turn your picture to magenta.
You need to remember that the magenta parts are what powerpoint tells you, it will be removed from the image and the areas that are the original coloras in the original image. These are areas that PowerPoint will keep. In this situation, we now have a pretty clean first try.
PowerPoint tries to guess what to keep and what to remove. Now it's done a pretty good job here, but I still need to make a few changes. So we are going to choose one of these two tools, mark areas to keep or mark areas to be removed and these will help you tell Powerpoint what to remove and what to keep in your picture.
So I'm going to choose highlight areas to keep here. As soon as I click on it, my cursor here turns into a little pen that I can draw this picture on, so I'll just draw in. You will notice that I am drawing a green line which indi kates you know green for going, so please keep this in the picture.
I'm going to roughly draw it and powerpoint will adjust the magenta areas and the color areas that indicate what will be removed in the picture once I close the picture I just keep drawing it and see if it is right. Here we go. It's a little bit here and draw that in.
There you go. Once you have it the way you like it, you can either select Keep Changes, or you can just click away from your image and the changes will keep your background transparent. In other examples it could get a little more complicated.
This was a pretty simple photo in this picture. It's going to take a little longer, so let's go ahead and see what that looks like. Format Picture Tools tab, remove background, and you'll see that PowerPoint actually guesses pretty well, but there are still some critical areas that are missing, including part of the head and the rest of the body.
So let's go in and do the same thing we didn't do before. This time. I recommend zooming in a little just so you can really fine-tune the details here.
So let's. I'm hovering the mouse over his head because I want to zoom in there and then I'm going to use my cursor to adjust the positioning and I'm going to be selecting marker areas so my cursor turns into a pen and then I'm going over his head here draw to make sure his forehead comes through well. Then let's go and see where else it works.
To make sure his watch stays in and oops, I scrolled down too far. So if this happens to you, don't worry, you can choose your picture using tools, format tab, remove background, and you will find that you can edit your picture further. So let's scroll down.
Make sure we don't go too far, just come here and I'll pick the areas you want to keep and keep moving this in to make sure we get his hand. That worked pretty well. Let's go a little further to check it g pretty good.
Let's go to the right here and also draw in the lower part of his body. That's good. Oh, it looks like we adjusted powerpoint here as well, when we've made some adjustments so let's draw that in and this looks good so let's choose keep changes.
I'll zoom out and make sure it's all in and it looks pretty good so if at any point you go back to the original image and all To discard changes you've made, you can do two things. You can either go to the Remove Background command and select Discard Changes, or you can select your image and go to Reset Image. This will restore your image to the way it was before you made any changes to it, these are just two methods to get back to the original photo.
Keep in mind that while this tool is pretty amazing, considering that it is a built-in photo editing tool right inside PowerPoint, it also has its limitations that can be quite difficult to separate the object you want to remove the background that you like want to remove. If the two are too similar, take this picture. For example, my arm is too similar to the background here.
They're both pretty gray and it's hard for powerpoint to tell the difference between the two. Also, it can be difficult to remove the background around the strands of hair, as in this example, or when you have very small fine objects like the jump rings in that picture or have the pen and finally if the background is too complex or if it has a gradient it can be pretty tricky too. In conclusion, while method number one is by far the fastest and most effective way to remove a background from your picture in PowerPoint, it only works for a small percentage of the photos that you are likely to use in your presentations.
So you want to make sure that you are familiar with method number two as you will most likely be using it a lot, and if it still doesn't work you will either have to look for a new image that works better or consider going to Photoshop to switch p to get the job done. How do I blur part of a slide in PowerPoint?
In PowerPoint, use File > Insert to put the picture on a slide. Use Insert > Shape to draw a shape over the area you want to blur. On the Format tab, select Shape Fill > Eyedropper. With the Eyedropper, click a part of the picture whose color approximates the color you want the blurred shape to be.
To work with the first step, you need to decide where to come out I'm going to use the Auto Shapes menu and the basic tool I'm going to use is called this oval tool under the basic shapes and while holding down the Shift key, I'm going to use the oval tool to draw a circle to cover the area i want to highlight just to make sure i picked the right area and say no film and i can have shape outlines in black color if you want to see it more clearly, maybe you can even add the weight so that it is very clearly visible.
The next step is to duplicate that photo, so click on the photo and press the D controls and position the duplicate right on top of the original photo and right click and go to Send to Backnow We have two photos two copies of the same photo stacked on top of each other and we're going to work with the top layer. I'm going to trim this so the edges touch the edges of the circle so you can see what I mean by that, let's go to format and go to the crop tool and move the edges lettuce now cut the edges to as you can see that the circle is in the background so we'll use that as a guide to stop the area we want to crop in the same way we are going to crop from this side, taking the circle as our guide, the next is from the top and we are going to fill this one and from the bottom you will be cropping here so this is one such square that is a cropped area and when I click outside you have two photos, one cropping to a square with a circle as Instructions and the second is the original photo In the next step we are going to fill this circular shape with this square photo, what are we going to do? To do this we select the square photo and press cut out so that we have now cut out the image let's take this picture this circle that is empty circle let's right click, sorry right mouse button, go to format form and us will use picture or texture fill, so click here now because we already have this picture in our short-term memory the picture will automatically be filled in this circular shape if it does not happen if it does not happen then you can always press clipb so that the square photo, that you just cropped and that went to the clipboard is now filling this killer shape here, so we now have two photos, one in the background and the second in a circular cropped shape. Here the next step is to manipulate the photo inside here so now format that a likely yes, we will have to click to format, switch to color and use that as a grayscale option as you can see here once we have done that have that only this part is converted to grayscale and the rest of the photo is in black and white.
You can always remove the outline, go to outline shape and say no outline and there we are, if you want to reverse the effect you can go back to format color, say no repetition, no recolor and take the background photo and change it this time the background photo to grayscale and the reverse effect will be created you can apply 3d effect to this click to go to shape effects, go to 3d format and maybe you can choose this circle effect and increase the width and height o the To create kind of effect you want to achieve, that's how we do this photo editing and highlighting a specific area in a photo knowing how to work with images and adding custom animation to the images will make your business slides very attractive.
