Hdcp support required - action-oriented solutions

Should I disable HDCP support?

AverageGamer24. richiestang_78 said: Disabling it means that if you were to try and watch videos that have copy protection, such as Amazon, Netflix etc they may not play and give you an HDCP error, or only be available in SD resolutions. I dont believe games use HDCP in any way so it should't make a difference.

Hi this is Mike from Mike's unboxing reviews and guides and today we're going to be looking at how to solve the problems with HDCP in your Radeon driver problems you may have with your AMD Radeon graphics card if you try to either Use an older HDMI device or view copyrighted content in HD format.

This mainly relates to the HDCP setting in the Radeon driver switch which may be related to your actual hardware. So when you are using something like a razor or a recorder or maybe an HD 60 from Elgato, it sometimes depends on what you actually record or want to record, if you may or may not be able to record from an older Nintendo device or maybe from. record on your own desktop computer, with HDCP enabled, you may end up with a blank screen as the device cannot record this type of content.

So there are several ways to do this, one of which is in the software we're about to look at, but another way is to just get an HDMI splitter box, now lots of those onboard chips. So when you plug in your HDMI device or just try to split the HDMI signal, the device actually thinks it is HDCP enabled so it will work fantastic on older devices too, or for copying content that is HDCP enabled or some kind of copyright protection so let's go to the computer and i will show you some of these options and also show you how to disable it in the software all of this is the amazon book code on the uk website and all i did is in the hdmi Splitter typed in and as you can see there are several options available now, one like this one from Tech Hole which probably doesn't have names but still does the job so this is an HDMI splitter you have two two outputs and one input for you to use can display that on two monitors at the same time, but essentially this will bypass HDCP so this will be done at 4k 30 Hertz 10. it supports 80p 3detc etc for all of these types of content so if you want to record your content or stream the content whatever you want to do, this may be an option to use in conjunction with your AMD graphics card so that You can view the content wherever you want.Of course you shouldn't, this is not a component of copyright theft but sometimes technology gets in the way but this is definitely a good option.

You can also use things like this HDMI 3-way switch and the options available, all of which may work for you depending on how many editions you want or whatever you're trying, but certainly the one from Tech Hole seems pretty one good option but if you don't want to spend money on the problem you have to try i want to fix it in the software and then we'll show you how to do it. So you need to open your AMDRadeon display driver, now we're using one of the newer Run Display Drivers and as you can see there is an icon in the system tray but also what to do if you want to find the software is easy Type AMD or just start typing and it will show up in the best match pick on Windows 10 AMDRadeon software, we just click on it and as you can see we are on the current version here, this is twenty point three point one thing Reese was on these events for the third twenty, which seems like an eternity right now, but what we want to do is go ingaming first and then we have to go to the global display which is here on the other side so is the global display the one you want and this gives you all of your display settings so there are different things you can do here if you have the HDMI connectivity If you have ng backup enabled, you can try disabling that actually eliminates the ability of an HDMI cable to communicate with the monitor or whatever is connected to set the correct display size, so you can definitely disable that if you can want, so just hit the Shift key and you can toggle it on and off. This is boring or not possible.

You may have to restart a computer in between to solve the problem again. Now go into Overrides I've done this before, so usually when you click over eyes you get a message saying you really want to do this, etc. So I wanted to click on overrides and in this section we now get HDCP support if you clicked a voice and you get the warning that you can't do anything in this section that may or may damage your edge display whatever is obviously considering this, but essentially we need to switch to HDCP support.

Currently this is the default, so hit the Radio button and you will get this warning that says that disabling dchp support will also disable HDMI connection backup and playback of protected content. If you are sure you want to continue when you have problems ems gets an ad then you have no choice, you can try this so hit next and then you don't have to restart so make sure when You don't get an ad right away, hit the restart now button so that's pretty much how it's obvious if it doesn't work you can just go back and activate it. For certain types of content, like Netflix, you may need to enable this in order to view copyrighted content.

Of course, it is up to the individual apps and software to decide what is protected and what is not in general when viewing it through a browser, your Germany is fine, but if you are actually inside the apps themselves you have to You might change it so that you have some options to try out on the software route and you can play the Radeon driver and see if it does the job for you. If not, you can invest a couple of windows in one of those HDCP devices that disable the protection, which is quite simple as sy workframe and can save you hours of headache, maybe it's always worth having when just hanging around, just In case you want to hook up an older TV, when like many people you're stuck at home right now and have a lot of people all trying to get online quickly on devices, maybe you have an old 24 inch TV somewhere with an HDMI input and want to connect a PC to it or watch content on it, but for some reason you just get a blank screen trying these settings is definitely worth it.You can also connect the device to a newer monitor to see these Activate settings.

If you have it enabled, if it says reboot now you can just hit Shut Down and then plug in your non-HDCP compatible monitor and then you should actually get a display that actually worked for me with a very old one, another board, that was based on the old AM platform which is a donkey year old, but disabling HDCP made it work on an older TV, while it used to be definitely not worth trying, if you have any comments or questions feel free to check them out Leave the comments section below if you might want to see the same thing less known for NVIDIA based graphics cards yet again. Comments and we'll see if we can do some content on this for you, but I'm Mike now, there have been a lot of unboxing reviews on this and hopefully we'll catch you in the next article, thank you water

What's going on guys? Here is Chris Majestic with Majestechs.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around 4K, HDR, and HDMI so today I want to do a really fast-paced article that explains everything. So stay tuned. You probably already know 4K, so I probably even see this article in 4K.

But for those of you who didn't know, 4K is basically 4 times the resolution of Full HD or 1080p. HDR or High Dynamic Range allows your TV to display a wider range of colors. If your 4K TV is a smart TV is best to use the built-in apps on the TV, like YouTube and Netflix, right on your TV so you don't have any compatibility issues.

But when you want to hook up something like a Blu-ray player or an external media player like a Roku or a Fire TV or something similar, then it can get pretty tricky. If you want to play 4K HDR content from an external source, there are three many things to keep in mind. The very first thing is to make sure that both your TV and media player are upport4K.

The second thing is to make sure you have a high speed HDMI cable. And the last is to make sure that both your TV and media player are the correct versions of Support HDMI and HDCP, this can get pretty complicated and difficult to explain. But I'll try to keep it as simple as possible.

Many people buy 4K TVs thinking that everything they see will be in 4K with this TV. That's not really true. When viewing it is a 4K article.

Unfortunately, cable and local broadcasts are not in 4K. However, there are plenty of movies and articles like the article you are watching that you can actually watch in 4K using things like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Video, and an external Blu-ray player when it comes to watching 4K content you get pretty much the best picture quality from a Blu-ray. Now you can stream really good quality article like you can now with YouTube and Netflix and the others, but deo 4K article will be much more compressed than one Blu-ray.

By now, you should know that not all Blu-ray players support 4K, and to make matters even more complicated, not all Blu-rays are 4K either, so make sure you have a 4K TV, a 4K Blu-ray Player and a 4K Blu-ray. To make matters even more complicated, there are many Blu-rays that are not HDR out there when you buy a 4K Blu-ray, just look over the top of the case. Usually there is Ultra HD there, which is another name for 4K, and you will see the HDR logo somewhere on the front too and that will tell you if you are getting a 4K HDR Blu-ray.

If you want to watch HDR, you can either stream it with something like Vudu or Netflix, or you can buy a 4K HDR Blu-ray player and a 4K HDR Blu-ray. If you have a 4K TV and 4K Blu-ray player and you try to play a 1080p Blu-ray, the 1080 will be upscaled to 4K, but it doesn't look nearly as good as a true 4K Blu-ray . The same goes for streaming 1080p content, whether it is with your TV or your media player.

It'll upscale it to 4K, but again, it won't look as clear as a real 4K article. The next thing to consider when moving to 4K is HDMI cables; in the past, HDMI cables really didn't matter that much, as long as you had a good quality high-speed HDMI cable you could Make 1080p or even 4K with low quality. Now, with 4K HDR, we can actually use up a lot more bandwidth on this HDMI cable, so in some cases you may not be able to use really cheap HDMI cables.

With shorter cables like 1.80 or even 2.80 m this is really no big deal.

But once you are 20 feet or longer, you run into problems. Now, if you need a longer cable and are having trouble, there are a few alternatives. The first thing you can do is buy a live HDMI cable.

An active HDMI cable will amplify and equalize the article signal so you can use it over longer distances ople, but there are still some people who have problems with this, especially if they need a very long cable. Another option is what is called a fiber optic HDMI cable. Now these cables are much more expensive, but they allow you high bandwidth over long distances.

Right now I'm actually using a 10m HDMI fiber optic cable to send a 4K HDR signal to my 4K projector. The last and probably the most important thing to consider about 4K is HDMI versions and HDCP I don't know, there are actually several different versions of HDMI and they add more features as the version progresses. Fortunately, these HDMI versions are independent of HDMI cables.

That said, as long as you have a good quality HDMI cable, even if it's a couple of years old, it will still support HDMI 2.0. Now for HDCP, one of the most complicated topics when it comes to 4K article.

HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, and 2.2 is the latest version version. Right now to support 4K v.

To properly play article from your media player or Blu-ray player, you want to make sure that both your TV and media player are HDCP version 2.2 compatible. Basically, HDCP creates a secure connection between your media player and your television that prevents you from connecting to an external source to record or duplicate the 4K article.

This communication process is also known as a handshake. So, for example, if you are trying to watch a 4K Blu-ray that is HDCP 2.2 protected, you will not be able to do so to watch that article in 4K unless your TV and Blu-ray player both support HDCP 2.2 .

If they don't support it, you will either get a 1080p article or a blank screen. If you bought one of the very first 4K TVs, chances are it doesn't support HDCP 2.2 and you will be really limited on what 4K content you can watch.

With all of these changes to HDMI and HDCP, things get even more complicated for audio receivers. We're going to be making a completely separate article for audio and HD audio in io formats over HDMI as that can be very complicated too, so stay tuned for this article. Hopefully you found this article helpful folks.

Leave your comments and questions in the comments section. I'll answer your questions. And we'll see you in the next article.

What should I do if my HDMI is not HDCP compliant?

The only solution is to either replace all the hardware that is not HDCP compliant (a pretty extreme solution considering it might be your expensive HDTV) or use an HDMI splitter that ignores HDCP requests. If you go the HDMI splitter route, position the splitter between the output and input device.

Do you need a license to use HDCP?

Right, HDCP is not something that is 'in' the content, it is a protection requested by the content. The options you set when creating protected content will determine whether or not HDCP is enforced for playback. In order to create protected content, you need to license something like the WM Rights Manager SDK .

When do I need to replace my HDCP cable?

The devices and cables must be HDCP compliant. If the problem is a cable or an intermediary device that you don't use often or is cheaply replaced, then replacing the hardware solves the problem. If the problem relates to a major investment—like an old TV—then your costs correspondingly increase.

Why are some products not compatible with HDCP?

The problem occurs when one of the products isn’t HDCP-certified. A key aspect of HDCP is that it isn't required by law to be compatible with every interface. It’s a voluntary licensing relationship between the DCP and various companies.
