To do this, you need a third-party app. There are plenty of them on the Mac App Store. Here's a look at a few that get the top rating.
So let's take a look at the desktop clock + first. Actually there are two. The other is Desktop Clock Live.
It's free with an in-app purchase. So you can try it out. I have just bought the desktop clock + in order to use all functions directly.
So when you get started, get this clock here on your desktop and get some help information. Just go straight to Settings here and we'll see we can choose from a number of different watch styles. Let's get to the digital watch style that a lot of people like.
I can change the position under the clock by clicking click and drag. Then I can click on it and drag it where I want. It's kind of frustrating that I can't auto-center it.
Here I could also adjust the size. This is the largest it will get, but it won't fill the screen by far. You can make it semi-transparent if you want.
You can always have it in the foreground, which means that other windows are actually behind it. This would of course be more useful if you made it small and put it in a corner. Note that it disappears when I move the cursor over it.
So you can still get to the things behind it. So there are a few more things under General. For example, you can have it automatically jump up when it's inactive for a while.
You can set a hot corner so that it moves up. You can hide the icon in the Dock if you don't want to see it down there. Note that you are here in the Start at login menu bar, which you would like to activate if this is only to be carried out automatically.
Next, let's take a look at ClockDesk. Now prices in the Mac App Store are constantly changing. But the previous app and this app are currently $ 2.99.
What you get here is a clock that runs right across the screen, blurring the background. You get a menu bar item here and you can control things. So you can set it to Start at login.
You can change the background blur. So if you don't want the background to be blurred, you can turn this off. You can increase or decrease the size.
I like that you can change the horizontal and vertical position and it will snap centered there. For example, I could have it displayed at the bottom of the screen if I wanted to, or at the top. I could have it semi-transparent.
I can always make it appear at the top. So here I have a TextEdit window and you can see that the clock is always in the foreground. I can turn off or change the date and time display.
Then I can choose any font I want. So here I can choose from all of the different fonts I have. Make it look a little different.
Adjust it a little. You can also change the color and whether or not there is a shadow underneath. Next, let's take a look at iSmartClock, also $ 2.99.
So you get a welcome screen here. Note that this is a small watch that has a special style. It's a circle and the line fills up with every second.
You will receive the day, the date and of course the time in analog form. By default, it will appear above things. But it's out of the way because once you move the cursor there it hides itself.
Now if you change or move it, hold down the Command key and move the cursor there. Then it won't hide itself and you can click and drag and move it anywhere. You can also click here and go to Settings.
Now you can choose to start it when you log in. Set some keyboard shortcuts. Change the look so you can change the color of things.
Let the digital time appear there instead of the analog. Center it automatically. You can increase its size quite a bit.
You can make it largely transparent if you want. Now the next one is a little more specialized. It's called Living Earth, and it even won Apple's Editor Choice Aware, so I really wanted to try it out.
But it's a little more expensive. It is now $ 6.99.
So when you first launch it, you won't get the desktop by default. What you get is you can see the weather and temperature up here and click there and then you can see the earth and it actually shows things like the right sidelights and also live clouds. You can go to Settings here, Settings, and this is where you can enable this for the desktop as well.
So let's turn that on and now you can see it turns the entire desktop into this one. Now it's nice to see what the earth would look like from space right now, but we're talking about clocks here. So you want to use the time and weather display.
This information is displayed here. Of course, you can change the city and turn this into a screensaver too instead of using it as your wallpaper. Now I've also come across a number of different apps from one developer too.
This name is called Mechanical Clock 3D Lite. It's a free version. The paid version lets you customize them further.
That looks pretty cool here. You could see that up here. You can easily hide it and also go to the settings here and make some settings.
This is how you can increase the graphics quality. Add ticking sounds and a few other things. Note that it shows a few things about AC and Battery modes here, as you can expect them to drain your battery.
In fact, all of these use up a bit of your battery life. After all, the desktop changes every second. So you probably don't want to use any of these if you're worried about MacBook battery life.
But it doesn't matter if you have a desktop Mac or just use it while your Mac is connected anyway. So now if you see someone on a Mac and find that their wallpaper has a live clock on it, you know how they do it. If you want any of these, you can find them all on the Mac App Store, plus a few others listed there as well.

Hey guys, Eddie the Magic Monk here. Today I want to share with you how to get multiple desktop clocks so you can drag them to different desktops so if you like me you probably have a couple of monitors and what I found is the clock that clock is in the lower right corner that appears in your system tray only shows up on one of the desktops, which is a little annoying because sometimes when I'm playing a game on one monitor I may need to see the clock on another monitor. So, to get these clocks, you'll need to download a tool called Rainmeter, so if you just google Rainmeter, you'll likely find it says Rainmeter desktop customization tool.
So if you hit that and just hit download and hit the final version download, you're not downloading the beta because you might crash your system or something so just go ahead and do the final version, download and install it once you download it and then you should see this icon in the lower right corner of your desktop so it will have this picture e here in the shape of the raindrop. So if you right click on this okay you can switch to layouts or skins and it will show you which skins you have. Going to an Illustrator clock allows you to activate your clock you should be able to see it on your desktop so you can see the clock to drag around and you can drag this to another desktop if you want when you can so go back to Internet Explorer or Chrome and just googling this time, you can just googling the Rainmeter skins and click the first link that links you to DevianArt, click that and you will see that there are skins for all sorts of purposes.
When you click on time and date these are all the different clocks you can get download ok it starts doing wnloading the clock so if you want to install this clock just click on it and open it oops um kind of mine Rainmeter too old for that so let's say I want to download this watch Run oops what's wrong with my version of Rainmeter? this clock, but um, if you downloaded the latest version of Rainmeter you shouldn't have the same problem but let's say I install this clock and once you install it, if you don't see it on your desktop, click right away right click on Rainmeter and go into the skins and find the clock you just downloaded which I think is called Eridian and just click on the clock and you can see it on your screen.
