Hi, I'm Josh from LCI Paper and today I want to walk you through the steps to print envelopes at home using your computer, printer, and Microsoft Word. Printing envelopes at home can now be time-saving and it can also save you money, depending on your calligraphy skills or what a calligrapher might have charged if you went this route. Most people are experts at printing 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper at home or at work, but printing envelopes takes quite a few extra steps, I'll walk you through the process.
My companion blog Article gives you all the steps and some additional considerations so I highly recommend that you follow the article and watch this article, In this article I will show you how to print on a 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 envelope, referred to as the A7 envelope. We will print names and an address. But the same principles and instructions apply to virtually any size envelope you are pri nting such as these three sizes or even double wedding envelopes.
Step 1: Put the envelope in your printer. With the flap closed, place the short edge in your printer first, then adjust the plastic sliding guide so that it is flush with the left edge of your envelope. Step 2: Set up your document in Word.
Create a new document using the same dimensions as your envelope, in this example my envelope is 5 1/4 high and 7 1/4 inches wide Set the same dimensions but in decimal numbers because that's how Word likes it. So 5.25 inches high and 7.25 inches wide.
Enter the first name and address from your guest list. Customize the text by choosing a specific font you like and a font size and center the text at this point. If everything looks the way you want to print it, you can skip to step 3.
Go to the printer driver and enter the envelope height, width, and orientation if you correctly type your envelope in step 1, the printer still assumes you have an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of copy paper, so you must Enter your printer driver and a custom size. Since your envelope will be loaded with the short edge first, the width will be the shorter dimension, in this example 5 1/4, and the height will be the longer dimension, 7 1/4. All of this is called in the printer software or in the 'Driver' and the specific PC and Mac instructions can be found in my article.
Step 4: Print 1 envelope as 1 test. The reason we strongly recommend printing a sample envelope first is so that we need to see if the printed test results meet your requirements. There are a couple of things to watch out for.
First, it prints the text as you hoped it would be? Is the text on the envelope crisp and saturated? Another thing to be aware of; After going through your printer, is the envelope still in excellent condition? Certain printers have a sharp curve that can damage the envelope. So make sure that your envelope still looks flawless, especially if it's a special occasion a matte finish like this one, a linen finish, a metallic finish, you need to make sure that your printer gives you the quality you are looking for Use a different printer for this job. Bottom line: You can only see the real results by testing the actual envelope in your specific printer.
Step 5: Print your envelopes. There are two ways to print envelopes that are sent to different addresses The first option is to go back to your Word document, change the name and address, and print an envelope. Just repeat the process for each tonce address using Microsoft Word's mail merge feature and we've provided a link to that article in this article.

Hello, this is Marty Carter. Today we're talking about envelope printing with the Canon imageRUNNER Advanced Series. There are actually three methods of printing on envelopes.
I'll talk first about the preferred method that uses bypass. You can open the bypass on the side of the device. In this case I am using the standard comm 10 envelope as such.
This is inserted upside down, but with the flap facing me. These guides adapt and you can't load more than 10 at a time when using the bypass tray. Now we're going to talk about the other two methods that you might consider.
Another way to print on envelopes is to use Tray 2. This allows you to load up to 50 envelopes. Refer to Tray 2 for Appendix A.
This attachment must be used when printing envelopes from Tray 2. There are two areas in which these are inserted. Just because.
The envelopes must then be loaded upside down, face up, and the guides adjusted to length and width. How to print envelopes with the Canon imageRUNNER using Tray 1 with Tray 1. You can print up to 25 envelopes in Tray 1.
You need 2 attachments with compartment 1. Here, too, we need the cover attachment A in these slots and he would have provided the cover attachment B with the delivery of the device. This must be loaded via the paper guide.
We load our envelopes when Tray 1 is used. The long edge of the envelopes goes up. Adjust this guide so that it is flush on each edge.
Now that the envelopes have been placed in our paper sources, we need to tell the device what the actual paper size is. It cannot automatically detect any odd sizes in the track. I will press the settings and registration button settings, paper settings and paper settings again.
Here we see that compartments 1 and 2 cannot see the odd size of the envelope. Select Tray 1 Select Envelope Number 10 Envelope is the default we want and you can see that the direction corresponds to the way we put the envelope in as it loads. OK.
Okay. And close. Now that we've put envelopes in the bypass tray, it can be a little easier because as soon as those envelopes are in the tray and I now put the envelope in, you will be asked to select the location where the envelope is written Slightly easier to touch your number ten instruct the short edge to load as we loaded it and press ok.
Can you print on a 6 x 9 envelope?
6 x 9 is only a 'standard' size in Word if the printer driver says it is. Otherwise it is a custom size and Word is hopeless with custom sizes and will adopt a standard size that may be close to the requested size, because it relies on the printer driver to format the document.
